New Beginnings

·

I write this as I sit in my parents living room one week away from when we will close on our new house. For the record, we have not and are not mouching off my parents living rent free in their basement.

Here is the backstory. My wife and I purchased our prior home when we moved right outside of Richmond, Virginia for my job. Our home was on land just shy of 5 acres, and we were starting to build towards becoming self-sufficient. As an example, we had roughly 50 layers chickens and were pretty successful in producing for ourselves and family/friends while also being able to sell to those around us. Even though we were extremely content, the goal became to find more land and to get further out into the country. We had been looking off and on for months, and then one day, I received a call from my wife about a house she found. It was exactly what we were looking for and on more land that we could’ve imagined. We saw the house the next week and immediately put an offer in that night. We ‘officially’ sold our house almost two weeks ago and have been anxiously waiting to close on our new house and start our next adventure. Next Friday, we will close on that house which is located on just shy of 65 acres in Nelson County Virginia. Stay tuned for the adventure.
